Here are some FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When does my child play and in what Session?
Soccer goes by the year your child was born
TOTS: born in 2013-2014; PEE WEES: born in 2012; MINORS: born in 2010-2011; JUNIORS: born in 2007-2009
When does soccer begin?
This depends on what session your child is in. Below on our flyer is a full schedule on all the dates for every soccer session. Rainouts will be made up and we will email you time and dates.
How am I notified about rainouts?
We will email everyone if there is a rainout. There is no number to call. When we find out or make that decision we will send out information immediately. This goes for all Intramural training and games. Not Travel, you will be notified by your coach.
What do I need to bring or have?
Every player need to have a Soccer Ball, Shin Guards, Drink, and a T-Shirt for Tots and Peewees and Jersey for Minors and Juniors.
Where can I get a T-Shirt and or Jersey?
T-Shirts will be given out at the first week of soccer 4/15-4/22. Every new player will receive a T-Shirt. If you are a Tot or Peewee you can where these for week day training and weekend sessions.
Jerseys are available at Sports Loft on Jericho Turnpike in New Hyde Park. Just tell them at the counter you play for Mineola Soccer and want the Reversible Red/White jersey. These are for the Minors and juniors to where for weekend sessions.
When will teams be picked?
This year we are excited to be doing our Intramural Program slightly different. The Tots and Peewees will still be run the same, but minors and juniors are not going to have set teams.
Why you ask? Well we have noticed that creating even teams in the beginning of the season is very difficult and creating even teams with players being able to play with there friends is next to impossible. So this year we will be having Gold Coast Trainers at EVERY session, along with Mineola Travel Player Volunteers. We will divide players into teams and start playing. Each week you will have the opportunity to play with different players and also with your friends. No more trying to switch players because one team has more than another, Even teams, no hurt feelings and more playing time for everyone. Depending on the amount of players is dictate how many teams we can have each week.
How can I as a parent help out?
Glad you asked, you can help out in a variety of ways. Each week we will be looking for volunteers looking to Lead a team, this will either be a Travel Player or Parent. Gold Coast Trainers will be there on the Field taking care of game play but we need you to take care of game management. If you are looking to become more involved we have a new Board Position, Soccer Sponsors. If you are interested in this Board Position please contact me ASAP.
